Emmanuel School is a ministry of EMCF. It was established in 1988 as the church recognised that the secular education system was failing to supply our children with the foundations they needed to mature in their Christian faith. As a result we have established a school where Christian beliefs and atmosphere are central.

The curriculum we have developed is designed to train our children in godliness and integrity as well as equip them with the skills and knowledge they will need for living.  We aim to provide all this in a loving and disciplined environment where each child is valued and encouraged in the fulfilment of their God-given potential.

The school caters for children aged 3-11 years. It is currently situated in Juniper Lodge, Kedleston Road, Derby, which is a well-equipped building with a capacity for up to 75 children.

The Vision
Emmanuel School aims to provide a Christ-centred education in which each child is encouraged to develop Christian character and enabled to develop their God-given gifts to achieve their full potential.

We recognise that parents are entrusted with the responsibility of raising children in God’s ways and seek to support the parents in that role.  The involvement of parents in the activities of the school is considered essential to the development of our partnership with them.

We recognise that education must meet the needs of the whole child - spiritual, social, academic, emotional, physical and moral.

We are committed to encouraging the children to establish a personal relationship with Jesus and become effective members of the family of God. Children are encouraged to develop the fruit of the Spirit in their lives and to exercise their spiritual gifts.

The word of God as revealed in the Bible is central to the development of our curriculum but we also recognise the need to equip the children to take their place in a society where the authority of scripture is not recognised.

We are committed to encouraging the children to treat others with care and respect. Good manners are strongly emphasised.

We aim to encourage a strong sense of family within the school. Each child is placed in a mentoring group where they are cared for and can show care for other children within the group. The older children in the school are taught to care for the younger ones.

We aim to provide a happy, stimulating learning environment within which the children can enjoy learning, whilst at the same time developing a self-disciplined approach to their studies.
